How to clean engine bay in Acura RSX

I use simple green specific to clean me engine bay, it  removes most of dirt and junk without any problem. I do it once or twice a year.

1. Wait for the engine to cool down.
2. Cover air filter, battery and fuse box, I just use plastic bags for it.
3. Spray simple green throughout the engine bay
4. Wait 5-10min
5. Spray everything with power washer
6. Wipe all the water off

Acura RSX AEM intake installation

I used to have CAI cold air intake in my previous RSX, it sounded very nice. Now I have short ram AEM  intake with dryflow filter, it's easier to access then CAI, I don't have to take off whole bumper to clean it.

JDM Recaro DC5 and FN2 front seats

First I got my hands on very nice set of genuine red Recaro DC5 seats, they were amazing, very comfortable  they just looked fantastic. But then I needed something fresh, so I found like new set of FN2 seats. Seat rails have a slightly different measurements so I had to cut off stock rails and weld DC5 rails into new FN2 seats. Finally, I got what I wanted and I just love them!

Acura RSX how to turn off maintenance light

This is very easy to do:

1. Put your key in
2. Leave the key in OFF position and hold the meter reset button for 5 seconds
3. Keep holding the button and turn the key to the ON or II position
4. Keep holding until the maintenance light turns off

I used dremel for this part, you need to cut little of your stock bumper to fit new a-spec under spoiler, take your time because there is no going back with this one ;)

• remove glove box compartment
• locate transistor power part
• replace with new one

Get new transistor power, I got it from dealer but you can find it cheaper online.

The part is located behind your glove box  

     

Installing DC5 red carpet

• remove front seats
• remove back seats
• remove center console
• remove dead pedal
• remove door steps
• install red carpet

Find DC5 red carpet in good condition, I got mine from one of the JDM online stores.

Remove front, back seat and back plastic panels on each side

Remove center console and stock carpet

Install your new red carpet

 

Dashboard tan to black conversion

I got all my black pieces from another wrecked RSX, interior was in very good condition. The hardest part was dashboard. First I removed the whole dashboard from my car, separated tan cover off the beam, then put black cover and my own beam.

What you need to remove before:
- disconnect battery
- steering wheel and rack (rent a special tool from autozone for this, it's easier to remove steering wheel without damaging the thread)
- glove box
- ECU cover
- passenger air bag
- fuse box
- a-pillars
- cluster
- radio ( each radio has specific code so you need to remember to swap it too)
- center console

How to replace cabin filter in Acura RSX

1. Clean your glove box compartment
2. Remove two clips, one on each side
3. Remove white cover
4. Remove both cabin filters
5. Clean or replace filters 

Empty your glove box

Remove two clips one on each side

Remove two cabin air filters. Clean them or replace with new ones. I had a lot of junk so I just got the new ones.
